The Business School of Lakeside University held a Colloquium for its final year schools at the Multi-Purpose Auditorium today. The program offered the 2025 graduating class of the school the opportunity to defend and pitch their group capstone projects. The capstone component of their degree program, has been reoriented toward demonstration of entrepreneurial leadership skills since last academic your. This requires every student in a group to develop a comprehensive business proposal, which identifies societal problems or market gaps; develop products and service; and set up an organization or a company to run businesses. This innovative approach replaced the anachronistic traditional Long Essay and allowed students to demonstrate entrepreneurial leadership skills developed in the course of their programs.
The companies developed by the students are in the area of Fruit and beverages, fisheries, green technology, and snacks for sports and recreational occasions. The students are expected to raise capital and operationalized their businesses within the first six months after graduation. This is in line with the university’s vision of becoming the best vehicle for graduating individuals as entrepreneur leaders and first choice of employers globally.
