On 2nd April 2024, Lakeside University College Ghana (LUCG) launched the Female Hostel and ERP Technology Transfer Project with Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) with a grant of USD 54,000.
The launch, physically at LUCG and virtually attended, saw key representatives from IsDB, IUIU, and LUCG, including the IsDB Special Assistance Division Manager and IUIU’s Rector, Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda.
The project aims to customize IUIU’s ERP System for LUCG’s needs and the construction of the female students hostel, fostering South-South cooperation IsDB expressed satisfaction with the milestone, while IUIU pledged further collaboration. LUCG’s President, Dr. Mohammed-Sani Abdulai, expressed gratitude and confidence in the project’s success.
Hajj Salem Kalmoni, LUCG’s Governing Council Chair, commended the cooperation. A project management committee, chaired by Dr. Jamil Serwanga, Vice-Rector, Academic Affairs, was appointed.
The meeting ended with optimism and commitment to project success.
