54th Annual NUGS Congress

The 54th annual non-residential congress of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) was hosted on the Madina Institute of Science & Technology (MIST) campus on Monday 3rd May, 2021.

The congress was under the theme “Student Leadership In the Midst of Covid-9 Pandemic: Taking Stock of Our Progress, Looking Into The Future.”

Delegates from diverse Student bodies across the country convened on the MIST campus to participate in the election of new leaders who would champion the interest of Ghanaian Students.

The SRC President of MIST, Muhammad Auwal Hamza was grateful and acknowledged the the role played by the leadership of MIST SRC both present and past for making this event possible. “We are very grateful to Mr. Mohammed Yahaya Yussif (SRC President 2019/2020), Hon. Bara Ahmed (SRC President 2018/2019), Hon. Abdul Karim Mutawakil (External Affairs President 2018/2019) and Hon. Mohammed Ali Obina (SRC Chief Justice 2017/2018) and Hon. Ayisha Salihu (SRC Women’s Commissioner 2019/2020) for their support. I hope that we can still rely on you for continued support as we put the different mechanisms of networking into gear.” he said. He also thanked the leadership of NUGS for ensuring that issues on the ground were taken care of.
